Child Safety Standards
Last updated: 2026-08-10
Version: 1.0
LetsLoop Ltd ("LetsLoop", "we", "us") operates a social application for discovering and joining local plans ("loops") and meeting people nearby. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation ("CSAE"). This page sets out our standards, in line with Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy and our duties as a user-to-user service under the UK Online Safety Act 2023.
1. LetsLoop is strictly for adults
LetsLoop is an 18+ service. You must be 18 or over to create an account, host a loop, or join one. This is a firm rule, not a guideline.
- We apply an age gate at signup using date of birth.
- We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
- If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we suspend the account and delete the associated personal data as soon as reasonably practicable.
- Adults who attempt to contact or meet minors through any LetsLoop surface are removed from the platform and, where appropriate, reported to the authorities.
2. Prohibited conduct
The following are banned outright and result in immediate account termination, content removal, and referral to law enforcement where appropriate:
- Child sexual abuse material ("CSAM"), including any sexualised image of a person who is or appears to be under 18, whether real, drawn, or synthetically generated.
- Grooming, solicitation, or any sexualised communication directed at a minor.
- Attempting to arrange an in-person meeting with a minor.
- Sharing, linking to, or advertising CSAE material anywhere on the service.
- Using LetsLoop to identify, target, or contact minors for any exploitative purpose.
These rules are also set out in our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, and apply across every surface of the app: profiles, loops, communities, posts, comments, stories, and direct messages.
3. How to report
Any user can report any content or person, from inside the app. Reporting is available on profiles, loops, messages, comments, community posts, community post comments, and stories.
Report categories include "Underage", "Sexual content or nudity", and "Illegal content" — the routes for CSAE concerns.
- In-app: open the item, choose Report, and select the category that fits.
- By email: privacy@letsloop.app
You can also block any user, which immediately removes their ability to contact you or see your content.
If a child is in immediate danger, call 999. Do not wait for us.
You can report child sexual abuse imagery directly to the Internet Watch Foundation at report.iwf.org.uk, and child sexual exploitation to CEOP at ceop.police.uk/safety-centre. You do not need our permission, and you do not need to report to us first.
4. How we handle reports
Reports involving minors or illegal content are treated as top priority and reviewed urgently, ahead of the general moderation queue.
- We operate an internal CSAE response runbook with defined response times and a named responsible person for child-safety incidents.
- Suspected CSAM is never viewed, downloaded, copied, or forwarded by our staff beyond the unavoidable glimpse that triggered the suspicion. Access is locked and the material is preserved in place as evidence.
- We report suspected CSAM to the Internet Watch Foundation, and, where a child may be identifiable or at risk, to the police and CEOP.
- We preserve evidence and account records for law enforcement, exempt from our normal data-retention deletion schedule, until the relevant authority confirms we may release them.
- We do not attempt to investigate, identify victims, or contact suspected offenders. That contaminates evidence and tips off perpetrators.
- We report through any additional statutory channel that applies to us as a user-to-user provider, including the National Crime Agency's reporting route for child sexual exploitation and abuse content.
5. Proactive measures
- Automated image moderation runs on uploaded profile images and photos.
- Selfie verification checks that a profile photo matches a live selfie, which raises the cost of operating a fake or impersonating account.
- Perceptual hashing of avatars detects re-uploads of previously removed images.
- Accounts removed for child-safety reasons are blocked from re-registering where we can detect it.
6. Our designated contact
LetsLoop Ltd maintains a Designated Safety Lead: a single named individual responsible for child-safety incidents, with a deputy. They receive every child-safety escalation, make the reports to the IWF, police and CEOP, and own each incident through to closure.
Enquiries from users, Google, regulators, and law enforcement:
privacy@letsloop.app
We aim to acknowledge child-safety correspondence within one working day. If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police on 999 rather than waiting for us.
7. Compliance
We comply with applicable child safety laws in the jurisdictions where LetsLoop is available, including the UK Online Safety Act 2023, the Protection of Children Act 1978, and the Criminal Justice Act 1988. We review these standards on launch and at least every six months thereafter, and after any child-safety incident.
